About The Position

We are seeking a Licensed X-Ray Technologist for our Flagstaff Clinic. This position offers flexibility in scheduling, with the possibility of PRN or part-time hours, and a competitive pay based on experience. The role involves managing a high volume of X-ray procedures in a busy practice with multiple machines. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with exceptional customer service and teamwork skills, who believes in a patient-centered approach. Additional MRI experience is a plus, especially with our new Siemens Free Max MRI machine.

Requirements

  • ARRT/ADHS AZ licensure is required.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement.
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment, including safety hazards.
  • Skill in positioning patients properly.
  • Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Must believe in a patient-centered approach.
  • Outstanding teamwork attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work at an efficient and fast pace.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Ability to stand/walk for much of an 8-10-hour shift.
  • Ability to move equipment and transfer/position patients, involving stooping/bending.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional MRI Experience is a plus.
  • If MRI experience, candidate must have certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).

Responsibilities

  • Manage a heavy X-ray volume, averaging 80-100 exams per day, working with fellow X-ray Techs on three machines.
  • Greet patients, escort them to the x-ray room, confirm the image to be taken, and explain the procedure.
  • Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by practicing ALARA and verifying exams.
  • Take x-ray exposures following protocol for body position, radiation intensity, and exposure time.
  • Inspect images to ensure they meet FBJ requirements.
  • Maintain equipment and examination rooms, and keep an inventory of supplies.
  • Ensure the operation of radiology equipment by completing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying legislation, enforcing adherence, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations, and answering questions.
  • Undertake other projects/duties as directed.
