This is a Part-time Pool A position requiring a minimum of 16 hours per month. The role involves participation in the department's on-call rotation, including two holidays, one every 12th weekend, and 2-4 weeknights of call per week. The X-ray Technologist will competently perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, communicate with patients to explain procedures and address concerns, and ensure patient safety through proper radiation protection. The technologist will also be responsible for positioning patients, selecting exposure factors, identifying patients, labeling images, processing radiographs for quality, and consulting with Radiologists. Record preparation, maintenance, and data entry into the radiology information system are also key duties, along with documenting billing codes for accurate patient charges. The role requires performing patient positioning and transporting duties, which involve lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique. A crucial aspect of this position is demonstrating knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding growth and development across the lifespan, and assessing patient status to provide necessary care.
