The X-ray Technologist is responsible for obtaining quality x-rays using correct position and radiation exposure, implementing safety procedures to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure, and creating and documenting x-ray CD copies. This role also involves assisting Physicians, Extenders, and Nurses with patient treatment and care, handling requests, filing and maintaining x-ray paperwork, and ensuring patient safety with equipment. The technologist will use specific Patient First reporting tools and the medical records system, maintain a clean work area, restock supplies, and attend training. A key responsibility includes directly supervising externs and Radiologic Technologist Assistants during x-ray exams. The role requires availability to assist as needed, with potential interruptions to breaks and mealtimes, and involves checking email, reviewing memos, and completing checklists during each shift.
