The X-ray Technologist is responsible for obtaining quality x-rays using correct position and radiation exposure, implementing safety procedures, and documenting x-ray copies. This role also involves assisting physicians and nurses with patient care, handling requests, maintaining paperwork, ensuring patient safety with equipment, and utilizing Patient First reporting tools and the medical records system. The technologist will also be responsible for cleaning the work area, performing biological cleanup, restocking supplies, attending training, and working with fellow employees and externs. A key responsibility includes directly supervising externs and Radiologic Technologist Assistants during x-ray exams. The role requires availability to assist as needed, with potential interruptions to breaks and mealtimes for patient care or center operations. Additionally, the technologist must check email, review memos and policies, and complete assigned checklists during each shift.
