The X-ray Technologist is responsible for obtaining quality x-rays using correct position and radiation exposure, implementing safety procedures for patients, self, and staff to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation, and creating and documenting x-ray CD copies correctly according to Patient First guidelines. This role also involves labeling images and sleeves correctly, understanding and correctly using x-ray and processing equipment, the bell system, and automated medical records system. The technologist will file and maintain all x-ray paperwork, ensure patient safety when using equipment, and understand various logs and screens. Responsibilities extend to cleaning the work area, performing biological cleanup in accordance with OSHA guidelines, restocking supplies, adhering to Patient First policies, addressing physician and nurse requests, completing checklists, attending training and meetings, and being available as needed, with potential interruptions to breaks and mealtimes for patient care and center operations. The role also includes operating, using, and maintaining medical and office equipment as trained.
