About The Position

Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is looking for a Full-Time or Part-time Radiologic Technologist to join our team at our Ankeny location. This role involves providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services while delivering compassionate, professional care to our patients. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with patients and being part of a collaborative healthcare team, helping patients overcome musculoskeletal pain and injuries so they can get back to the activities that matter most.

Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Radiologic Technology.
  • Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist certification/licensure.
  • Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required professional certification.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of current trends and techniques in X-ray technology.
  • Strong patient service, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with patients and staff.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  • Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions.
  • Must meet applicable mandatory reporting requirements for children and adults.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Operate computerized and manual radiologic equipment for orthopaedic diagnostic purposes.
  • Prepare and position patients to obtain appropriate radiographic exposures.
  • Perform radiographic, fluoroscopic and portable imaging using proper radiation protection and safety precautions.
  • Follow physician protocols for specific studies.
  • Complete studies and screenings required for ancillary services.
  • Assist with obtaining outside imaging for upcoming surgical procedures.
  • Process imaging requests for patient referrals to external facilities.
  • Complete ABN billing forms and other required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate computerized records, files and reports.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
  • Perform daily quality checks on X-ray equipment to ensure proper operation and safety.
  • Maintain radiation safety compliance, including monthly radiation badge monitoring.
  • Report equipment issues or malfunctions to the Clinical Supervisor and assist with coordinating service when needed.
  • Participate in yearly shielding checks and report concerns to the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  • Establish effective working relationships with patients, physicians and staff.
  • Represent Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine professionally when interacting with patients, clients and vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
