About The Position

Perform radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to help physicians diagnose injuries and disease. Assist with administrative and clinical needs as appropriate, including patient registration and medical assisting duties. This position is with an American Family Care franchised business location; specific job duties and benefits may vary between franchises.

Requirements

Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
Licensed according to state regulations.
In some states, Medical Assistant certification or registry, a Practical Nursing License, or EMT or Paramedic certification is acceptable.

ARRT registration or board eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and explain procedures in a compassionate manner.
Position patients appropriately for diagnostic imaging procedures.
Practice ALARA radiation protection techniques.
Process images, review them for proper identification and quality control, and prepare them for physician review and radiologist overreads.
Use digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment in compliance with approved radiology techniques and applicable policies and procedures.
Assist providers with prescribed patient treatments in accordance with approved standards, policies, procedures, and protocols as necessary.
Perform routine equipment maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, make minor repairs, and arrange for repairs as needed.
Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
Serve as a Medical Receptionist and/or Medical Assistant when needed and within appropriate guidelines.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
