About The Position

Atlantis Orthopaedics, a division of South Florida Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, is seeking a patient-focused X-Ray Technologist / Medical Assistant to join our growing Urgent Care team in Jupiter, Florida. Requirements

  • Current Florida Radiologic Technologist (RT) license required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Medical Assistant experience or willingness to perform Medical Assistant duties.
  • Experience with digital radiography and Electronic Medical Records required.
  • Excellent patient service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital radiography equipment and PACS systems.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) systems, preferably NextGen or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of orthopedic imaging protocols, anatomy, radiation safety, and infection prevention.
  • Ability to accurately document clinical information within the EMR.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced urgent care environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to assist patients with positioning and mobility.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting during patient care and imaging procedures.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity necessary to perform diagnostic imaging and clinical duties.
  • Ability to respond quickly in urgent patient care situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Current ARRT certification preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience in orthopedic, urgent care, sports medicine, or outpatient imaging preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations as ordered by the provider while ensuring patient safety and radiation protection.
  • Prepare patients for examination by obtaining vital signs, documenting medical history, and assisting with rooming.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, injections, splinting, casting, wound care, and other in-office procedures.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, treatments, and follow-up instructions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Ensure imaging equipment and exam rooms are clean, stocked, and functioning properly.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, radiation safety, and infection prevention standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, front office staff, and other team members to promote efficient patient flow.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
