About The Position

Performs diagnostic imaging procedures and provides patient education by performing the following duties: Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures. Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician. Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation. Determines exposure factors and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy. Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff. Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control. Prepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician. Completes forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed in electronic medical records system. Verifies, updates, and maintains accurate patient insurance information. Other duties as assigned. For example, on occasion may be asked to cover at a satellite office.

Requirements

  • ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Must obtain radiography registry within 3 months of hire date
  • B.A. from a 4-year college or university, A.A from a 2- year college, or accreditation from a 2-year hospital-based program
  • One to two years prior experience
  • ARRT Registered
  • Must maintain CE 24 credits every two years
  • Act 34 PA Criminal Background
  • Act 151 PA Child Abuse History
  • Act 114 FBI Cogent Clearance Fingerprinting
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must be able to assist patients on tables and equipment
  • Occasionally lift and/or help move patients over 100 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff
  • Flexible team player
  • Strong computer experience
  • Electronic medical records experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Current CPR/AED Certification a plus
