X-Ray Technician
About The Position
Under the direction of a physician or APP, performs routine radiographs and minimally invasive procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical procedures that requires independent judgment and ingenuity to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Must be willing to cross train and float to meet the needs of the facility. MA duties, including patient assessment, vitals, medication administration and lab draws. Demonstrates customer service and patient care excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned. Alternating weekends and holidays. Mixture of 6, 8 & 12 hour shifts with alternating weekends and holidays. Will be trained to do BAT and URINE DRUG SCREEN Asking medical histories Preparing patients for examination Assisting the physician during exams Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens Performing basic laboratory tests Preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician Transmitting prescription refills as directed Drawing blood (will train) Taking electrocardiograms Removing sutures and changing dressings Administering TB
Requirements
- Must have current Florida State License.
- Two years of experience required.

Responsibilities

- Explains procedures to patients.
- Positions patients and equipment.
- Maintains exam rooms by stocking them with necessary supplies.
- Maintains equipment and reports any equipment malfunctions.
- Performs MA duties, including patient assessment, vitals, medication administration, and lab draws.
- Asks for medical histories.
- Prepares patients for examination.
- Assists the physician during exams.
- Collects and prepares laboratory specimens.
- Performs basic laboratory tests.
- Prepares and administers medications as directed by a physician.
- Transmits prescription refills as directed.
- Draws blood (will train).
- Takes electrocardiograms.
- Removes sutures and changes dressings.
- Administers TB tests.
