About The Position

UP Health System Bell is seeking an Xray Technician III to join their team. This is a union role (BMH USW Steelworkers) with a schedule of 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, and varied shifts, including on-call and weekend rotation. The position offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus for eligible external candidates. Requirements

  • Graduate of AMA approved school of radiological technology.
  • ARRT Registered or eligible. Primary Source Verification: American Registry for Radiologic Technologists.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

  • Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patient is comfortable. Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
  • Operates radiology equipment to perform clinical diagnostic radiology exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
  • Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth.
  • Follows established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information.
  • Willing and able to demonstrate appropriate core competencies annually or as requested.
  • Performs all general radiography procedures associated with the department, including development of films and preparation of contrast media, as appropriate.
  • Transports patients to and from department.
  • Meets responsibility of on-call scheduling of department. Files and retrieves radiology files.
  • Works with PAC's system. Completes quality assurance studies as directed.
  • Completes all necessary documentation in patient and department files.
  • Enters HIS/RIS/PAC's data into computer systems.
  • Maintains current knowledge appropriate to tests.
  • Performs all general radiography procedures associated with the department, including development of films and preparation of contrast media, as appropriate.
