About The Position

This is a part-time X-Ray Technician position with a set schedule of Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 am to 5 pm. The role involves positioning patients for imaging exams, monitoring them during procedures, documenting information using computers, reporting findings to physicians, explaining procedures, preparing equipment and examination rooms, and ensuring patient safety. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining equipment, complying with legal requirements, and staying current with professional knowledge. A positive work atmosphere and adherence to HIPAA procedures are expected.

Requirements

  • Must be a RT.
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree.
  • Graduated from an accredited school.
  • Must be ARRT certified.
  • Must be a RT or LMRT.

Responsibilities

  • Positioning patients for imaging exams.
  • Monitoring patients during exams.

  • Ensuring safety of patients during exams.
  • Identifying patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
  • Ensuring operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Complying with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Maintaining safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Gaining patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
  • Preparing patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Minimizing radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
  • Maintaining production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments.
  • Documenting patient care services by charting in patient and/or department records.
  • Contributing to an overall positive work atmosphere through actions and attitude.
  • Participating in office meetings and educational activities.
  • Assuming responsibility and accountability for maintaining and improving radiologic knowledge and skills.
  • Maintaining work area in neat and orderly manner.
  • Complying with HIPAA procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
