About The Position

Concentra is seeking an X Ray Limited Scope & Medical Support Specialist to join their patient care team. This role is vital in providing exceptional care to patients and improving the health of America's workforce. The specialist will perform routine x-ray, medical, and testing procedures under the supervision of a clinician, and also support in areas like registration and referral management. The position requires efficient and accurate patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring patients receive quality clinical care and an excellent experience.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Completion of state approved Limited Scope Technician certificate program and license by the state in which employed, if applicable.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • At least six months of medical assistant experience with knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology
  • At least six months of demonstrated experience in X-Ray and familiarity with routine medical procedures
  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions
  • Ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies
  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear, and professional manner
  • Teamwork focus with peers and center leadership team; ability to maintain working relationship with all levels of colleagues
  • Must participate in initial and ongoing training as required
  • Obtain all certifications required of Medical Support Specialists including but not limited to Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol Certification, Hair and Oral Fluids Collection
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Outlook and entry of data into various systems/applications

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) is preferred
  • Prior medical office, healthcare and/or customer service-related experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, assist in positioning, and explain procedures.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices.
  • Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order and report malfunctions.
  • Follow Radiology workflows and ensure reports cross correctly to EMR.
  • Maintain x-ray equipment, including calibration, QA/QC procedures, and record keeping.
  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and performing ancillary testing.
  • Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
  • Assist providers during examination and treatment.
  • Perform routine medical procedures and triage emergent patients.
  • Prepare and assist clinician with procedure set up and injury care.
  • Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered.
  • Dispense medications and DME as ordered.
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices.
  • Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms.
  • Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment.
  • Notify supervisor of equipment malfunctions, supply needs, or facility issues.
  • Assist with patient flow and volume in partnership with center leadership.
  • Keep patients informed of expected wait times.
  • Perform clerical tasks in both front and back office.
  • Ensure accuracy in documentation.
  • Perform front office duties: greet patients, obtain authorization, check in/out, communicate wait times, answer telephone, and distribute employer results/paperwork.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
  • Attend center staff meetings or huddles.
  • Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility.
  • Complete applicable training, including clinical competency training.
