About The Position

Performs fluoroscopic procedures for the treatment of patients of all age groups, utilizing the guidelines of the professional radiology practice standards. Help patients feel comfortable during the entire process. Perform selected nursing, lab, administrative, and clerical duties that assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management under the direction of a Physician, PA, or NP. These duties are delegated in relation to the individual's degree of training, in accordance with the objectives and policies of the organization and respective state laws governing such action and activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Current X-Ray Technology certificate or license from a program approved in Illinois.
  • A current certification or license in X-Ray Technology from the state of Illinois.
  • Knowledge of modern radiologic equipment and techniques.
  • Knowledge of regional and gross anatomy of the human body.
  • Knowledge of standardized radiologic clinical procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of the hazards of radiologic materials and the safety precautions required.
  • Knowledge of the operation and care of modern radiologic equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at a level required for successful job performance.
  • Ability to administer emergency aid for shock.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to analyze situations accurately and take effective action.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Knowledge of email systems such a Microsoft Outlook sufficient to communicate with both internal and external contacts.
  • Knowledge of Word and Excel sufficient to create simple documents such as memos and reports, enter data, copy or cut and paste data and print results.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to be on your feet for long periods.
  • Ability to lift or turn disabled patients.
  • Ability to concentrate for periods of up to four hours.
  • Ability to communicate verbally both in person and on the telephone.
  • Ability to use computer keyboard and to view a computer monitor.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of WebMD and HST system sufficient to perform review and data entry preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs fluoroscopic procedures for the treatment of patients of all age groups, utilizing the guidelines of the professional radiology practice standards.
  • Help patients feel comfortable during the entire process.
  • Perform selected nursing, lab, administrative, and clerical duties that assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management under the direction of a Physician, PA, or NP.
  • Prepare solution used in processing x-ray film and process film.
  • Keep simple records, file film correctly, and compile reports.
  • Order and store supplies.
