About The Position
Operates x-ray and auxiliary equipment, processes images, and maintains and cleans equipment. Maintains required documentation. This role is for weekend evenings only.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program
- New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration
- Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams
Responsibilities
- Prepares patient for exam, explaining the procedure in layman's terms and ensuring consent forms are obtained if necessary.
- Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures, positioning patients, arranging immobilization devices, and adjusting equipment for correct exposure.
- Monitors patient's condition during the procedure, recognizing and reporting any abnormalities to the Radiologist.
- Keys in patient history data and other pertinent information.
- Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival.
- Processes and maintains exposed images, labels film for identification, and maintains required records.
- Utilizes film markers to ensure images are properly marked as the "right" or "left" side.
- Ensures images are legibly labeled with correct date and patient identification.
- Enters the exam onto the daily log sheet as needed and completes correct tracking steps for each examination.
- Performs related duties as required.
