This is a part time position. Shifts will be primarily midshift or PM at either the hospital or offsite locations. Weekend, call, and holiday rotation required. The X-ray Tech operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by a physician. They are accountable for the performance and documentation of all diagnostic procedures utilizing proper technical parameters to produce quality studies. This role requires knowledge in the safe use, maneuverability and operation of all general radiography, portable and fluoro equipment. Proficiency in general diagnostic procedures and potentially general fluoroscopy procedures, including GI and Pain procedures, is expected. The technician must adhere to infection prevention, isolation and sterile techniques, as well as ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure. They are responsible for proper patient identification, obtaining and recording patient history, explaining procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and reviewing radiographs for quality. The role also involves reporting equipment issues, performing computer functions for RIS/HIS systems, labeling radiographs, maintaining professionalism and teamwork, providing positive patient interactions, and participating in learning and development opportunities. Additionally, the technician must maintain state license and national board certification, manage supplies, ensure cleanliness of equipment and work area, and use Universal Precautions.
