About The Position

Radiologic Technologist responsible for managing imaging orders, performing diagnostic X-rays and bone density exams, and ensuring high-quality, low-exposure imaging. Duties include accurate data entry into systems, patient preparation and safety, equipment maintenance, and compliance with radiation safety standards. Also handles administrative tasks such as maintaining exam logs, managing insurance-compliant coding, and supporting clinical operations with report filing and system updates. Proactively developed safety protocols, technique charts, and ensured state registration compliance for imaging equipment.

Requirements

  • Proficient in performing X-rays, bone density scans, and using DR/CR systems.
  • Skilled in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining radiologic equipment.
  • Knowledge of imaging software like Infinitt, Sonicare, PACS, and EMR systems.
  • Applies ALARA principles, patient shielding, and proper exposure techniques to minimize radiation dose.
  • Ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images on the first attempt, minimizing repeats.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy and proper patient positioning for accurate imaging.
  • Understanding of state and federal radiology compliance standards (e.g., ACR, ARRT, HIPAA).
  • Accurate entry of imaging data, exam logs, and patient reports into systems.
  • Ability to apply correct and reimbursable diagnosis codes for imaging procedures.
  • Performing daily QC on machines and maintaining compliance logs (e.g., dose reports, repeat logs).
  • Compassionate and clear communication with patients, ensuring comfort and cooperation during procedures.
  • Works effectively with radiologists, referring physicians, and clinical staff.
  • Quick decision-making in image corrections, equipment troubleshooting, or patient care needs.
  • Strong focus on accuracy in imaging, documentation, and compliance.
  • Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology (A.A.S. or equivalent)
  • ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • State Licensure (if applicable)
  • BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience creating technique charts, safety programs, and improving imaging workflows.
  • Ability to guide or train junior staff in imaging procedures and safety protocols.
  • Experience registering and decommissioning equipment with state regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Input imaging and bone density orders into Infinitt (Sonicare) and X-ray systems.
  • Match and send images to PACS after acquisition.
  • Prepare, position, and shield patients appropriately for imaging procedures.
  • Ensure accurate imaging with minimal exposure using correct techniques.
  • Verify patient and procedure details before imaging.
  • Acquire high-quality diagnostic images on the first attempt.
  • QC bone density machines daily and perform bone density exams.
  • Input related documentation into the system.
  • Ensure radiology reports are properly filed in patient charts after review.
  • Maintain logs of all exams (daily/monthly/yearly), repeats, and employee dose reports.
  • Manage and update the X-ray compliance manual.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Communicate equipment maintenance needs.
  • Registered and decommissioned imaging equipment with the state.
  • Developed a radiation safety program and DR system technique chart.
  • Manage fax and referral inboxes.
  • Ensure ICD-10 codes used are insurance-compliant for reimbursement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
