Provides healthcare services, applying x-ray energy to assist in the diagnosis or treatment of patients using radio/fluoroscopic procedures. Performs medical imaging techniques and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Performs and documents all radiographic examinations with proficiency, ensuring proper patient positioning, appropriate technique selection, and correct use of digital systems including RIS and Synapse/PACS. Verifies patient identity, reviews requisitions and chart orders, and records complete patient history in accordance with ACR standards and departmental policies prior to each procedure. Applies radiation safety protocols and adjusts technical factors based on patient anatomy, while ensuring proper anatomical identification and orientation on all images. Conducts quality assurance and control activities in compliance with ACR, State Department of Health Services, and other credentialing requirements, utilizing modality QA reports to drive continuous improvement. Maintains a safe, organized work environment by assessing patient conditions, applying appropriate support/restraining devices, managing supply inventory, and demonstrating professional, courteous behavior with patients, physicians, and colleagues at all times.
