About The Position

This is a part-time position for a CT Technologist who will also assist with X-rays as needed. The role involves operating CT scan equipment, interacting with patients, and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Requirements

• Deep familiarity with CT scan equipment
• Basic knowledge of anatomy and biology
• Ability to administer IVs
• Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot CT scan equipment performance
• Observational skills to notice problems with images
• Strong oral communication skills to field patient questions and collaborate with the care team
• Organizational skills to maintain an orderly supply area
• Mathematics skills for contrast administration and inventory maintenance
• Computer skills to operate CT scan equipment, use email, and update medical records using health information systems software
• Associate degree or equivalent in radiologic technology
• Valid Radiologic Technologist license from the state of Kentucky
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Current BLS Certification
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR

Responsibilities

• Interpreting orders provided by the physician or other prescribing medical professional
• Explaining the CT scan procedure to patients
• Positioning patients properly for necessary images
• Administering IVs with contrast dyes to enhance imaging
• Examining images to ensure usability
• Updating patient medical information
• Cleaning and maintaining CT scan equipment
• Keeping inventory of CT scan supplies and ordering restocks
• Assisting with X-rays as needed
