About The Position

The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Requires high school diploma, GED or specialized vocational training.
  • Must obtain a "D" Biological Wastewater Operator License within one (1) year from the date of employment or transfer.
  • Requires a short demonstration up to and including one (1) month.

Responsibilities

  • Learns and performs daily plant operations.
  • Assists with inspecting equipment and processes to determine efficiency of operations, maintenance requirements, and cleanliness.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Cleans system components as needed.
  • Monitors and records readings from meters, gauges and instruments.
  • Collects and prepares water samples for laboratory analysis; conducts routine tests and records results.
  • Assists with solids handling procedures.
  • Cleans and maintains assigned vehicles, equipment and areas within the facility.
  • Performs general building maintenance work as required.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate and complete work records.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with policies and procedures, S.C. DHEC and EPA regulations, and all other applicable laws, regulations, and standards of quality and safety.
  • Serves on call as scheduled to ensure uninterrupted service for customers.
  • Attends conferences, meetings, training, seminars, etc., as necessary to maintain and enhance job knowledge and skills.
  • Management may assign additional duties as trained for and qualified to do so related to the work of the position as necessary.
