About The Position
Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) is seeking a part-time Writing Tutor to provide high-quality tutoring services to students. This position is approximately 20 hours per week and is a wage position limited to 1500 hours within a 12-month period, with no benefits. The Writing Tutor will work in the Shenandoah Valley and will be part of a community focused on student success.

- Ability to integrate effective study and learning strategies with subject-area instruction
- Positive attitude toward student efforts
- Ability to provide consistent feedback to students on progress
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to protect student confidentiality
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one, small group, and/or classroom tutoring services of exceptional quality on a walk-in or scheduled basis
- Integrate effective study and learning strategies, added to subject-area instruction
- Exhibit a positive attitude toward student efforts, and provide consistent feedback to students on progress
- Maintain accurate records of individual and group tutoring sessions
- Protect student confidentiality, at all times
- Provide coverage to the library circulation desk as needed
