About The Position

Owens Corning is seeking dynamic individuals to join their local team in Stokesdale, NC. This role is responsible for safely providing glued inventory for usable products and proper training of crew. The position involves observing safety rules, learning working knowledge of inventory, inspecting stock, stacking reject lumber, banding material, and achieving increased quality and production as training progresses. The team member will also be responsible for keeping the workstation clean, understanding glue mixing and application, and training new crew members. Reporting machine issues promptly is also a key responsibility, along with other duties assigned by management. Regular attendance is an essential job function.

Requirements

  • 9th grade completion and be at least 18 Years Old
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Able to communicate clear and concisely
  • Able to read a tape measure
  • Self-motivated, work with limited supervision while following verbal, written instructions
  • Lift 35lbs
  • Stand for 10 hours straight
  • Climb and descend stairs/ladder as needed for the role
  • Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; squatting; lift, push and pull 35-pounds)
  • Withstand exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
  • Be exposed to wood dust and aluminum with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably one year experience in a manufacturing setting

Responsibilities

  • Observe safety rules.
  • Learn working knowledge of inventory.
  • Inspect stock prior to being fed into prep molder.
  • Keep reject lumber neatly stacked.
  • Band material to be offloaded in a timely manner.
  • Safely achieve increased quality and production as training period progresses.
  • Responsible for achieving quality and production.
  • Keep the workstation clean including Infeed, Outfeed, Prep Area, and Glue Application area.
  • Proper mixing of glue and catalyst
  • Proper orientation of material at both in feed and the matching area prior to wrapping application.
  • Grading for proper squeeze out and proper stacking orientation
  • Daily and weekly cleaning procedures for glue applicator and tanks.
  • Must be able to successfully train new crew members in each position.
  • Report machine issues to the operator, supervisor or to maintenance promptly.
  • This job includes other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
  • Regular attendance is an essential job function.
  • Assist in all preventative maintenance
