About The Position

Requirements

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
  • Certification in wound care nursing (e.g., Wound Care Certified (WCC) or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience, preferably in wound care or related specialties.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and wound healing processes.
  • Ability to perform physical assessments and document clinical findings accurately.
  • Clinical assessment skills daily to evaluate wound characteristics and patient health status, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Proficiency in wound care techniques, including debridement and dressing application, is essential for effective patient management.
  • Communication skills are critical for educating patients and collaborating with healthcare teams to coordinate care and update treatment plans.
  • Documentation skills ensure that all patient interactions and care interventions are recorded precisely, supporting continuity and compliance.
  • Ability to stay informed about emerging wound care technologies and research enables the nurse to apply the most current and effective treatments.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Advanced certifications such as Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) or Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT).
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary healthcare settings including outpatient clinics and home health.
  • Strong background in patient education and counseling.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of wounds, including documentation of size, depth, and condition.
  • Develop and implement individualized wound care plans based on best practices and patient-specific factors.
  • Perform wound treatments such as debridement, dressing changes, and application of advanced therapies.
