About The Position

This full-time RN position in the Wound Healing Center focuses on providing competent direct patient care, supporting unit activities, and enhancing the care delivery system. The role may involve charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities. The successful candidate will provide case management, possess clinical competence in wound care treatments and patient education, and administer Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy (HBO). The primary focus is monitoring and attending to various wounds to promote healing. This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience with adult patient populations. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with adult patient populations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team to provide compassionate quality care.
  • Wound care certification required within 2 years of hire date.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous wound care experience.
  • Previous home care experience.
  • Board wound certification from a professional organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide competent direct patient care based on established standards.
  • Contribute to unit activities and support the enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
  • Support peers in the delivery of patient care services.
  • Assume an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
  • Provide case management according to specific protocols and procedures.
  • Possess clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management.
  • Administer Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy (HBO) as a modality of care.
  • Monitor and attend to a variety of wounds and their healing process to promote healthy and rapid healing.
  • Assist with patient intakes and procedures currently being administered in clinic.
  • Perform telephone triage and provide home care service plan support.
