About The Position

The Pines at Bristol, an affiliate of National Health Care Associates, is seeking a Wound Care Nurse (RN). As the Wound Care Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and monitoring wound conditions in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. You will serve as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator, and facilitator, working to elevate the overall quality of care for individuals with complex wound care needs. Requirements

  • Valid state RN nursing license
  • 2+ years in wound care management
  • Familiar with research-backed wound care and cleansing products
  • Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and critical thinking skills
  • Compassion and empathy in caring for residents with complex wound care needs
  • Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, microbiology
  • Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) Certification
  • Preferably in a Long-Term Care setting

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and expertise of wound care and prevention program for residents and staff
  • Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients exhibiting skin complications
  • Provide direct wound care interventions, including dressing changes, debridement, and wound irrigation
  • Review, update and direct the implementation of wound care & prevention policies and procedures
  • Monitor wound healing progress and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment modalities
  • Educate residents, families, and staff on wound care protocols and prevention strategies
  • Collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
  • Maintain accurate documentation of wound assessments, interventions, and outcomes for regulartory compliance and reimbursement
