About The Position
Beaver Dam Health Care Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Wound Care Nurse to join its team at a skilled nursing facility. The nurse assesses wounds resulting from accidents and surgical procedures, identifies immediate treatment needs, and develops long-term treatment plans. The role includes making regular rounds, coordinating case management with supervising physicians, and serving as a liaison between families and healthcare administrators. Before discharge, the nurse educates patients and families on care practices that promote wellness and healing.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a registered nurse (RN).
- CPR and basic life support (BLS) certifications.
- Wound care certification and prior wound care experience.
Nice To Haves
- A BSN degree is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in inpatient and palliative care is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess each patient's needs and determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families on practices that promote healing and wellness.
- Track treatments and patient progress in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Coordinate with supervising physicians to support smooth recovery processes.
- Perform other nursing duties as required.
