Wound Care Nurse (RN or LPN) EVERY OTHER WEEKEND
About The Position
Generations at Applewood in Matteson, Illinois has an immediate opening for an experienced Wound Care Nurse who can work every other weekend with flexible hours. This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with prior wound care experience. While a Wound Care Certificate, Training, or Full Certification is preferred, candidates with a couple of years of wound care experience will also be considered. The facility is a state-of-the-art, 24-hour rehabilitation and skilled nursing community serving senior residents in the Chicagoland area, emphasizing stability, longevity, professional growth, and a collaborative work culture.
Requirements
- Current RN or LPN license from the State of Illinois
- Wound Care experience required
- Personable and professional with residents, families, and staff
- Maintain confidentiality of all residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Must have compassion, understanding and tolerance for older adults
Nice To Haves
- Wound Care Certificate (WCC) or Vohra Certificate or ability to complete certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Skin evaluation for pressure sore prevention
- Medication application to existing wounds
- Educate patients to care for their own wounds
- Care for patient's surgical incisions, any pressure sores or any wounds caused from disease or injury
Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $35-42 depending if a LPN or RN
- Additional shifts available working a cart as a floor nurse with a $2 per hour shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift.
