About The Position

The Pines at Bristol, an affiliate of National Health Care Associates and a Certified Great Place to Work, is seeking a Wound Care Nurse (RN). This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of aging guests and their families, fostering lasting bonds and providing opportunities for career growth. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and monitoring wound conditions in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. Your care planning and interventions will aim to improve wound healing and enhance the comfort and quality of life for residents. You will serve as a practitioner, resource, consultant, and educator to elevate the overall quality of care for individuals with complex wound care needs.

Requirements

  • Valid state RN nursing license
  • 2+ years in wound care management, preferably in a Long-Term Care setting
  • Familiar with research-backed wound care and cleansing products
  • Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and critical thinking skills
  • Compassion and empathy in caring for residents with complex wound care needs
  • Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, microbiology preferred
  • Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and expertise of wound care and prevention program for residents and staff
  • Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients exhibiting skin complications
  • Provide direct wound care interventions, including dressing changes, debridement, and wound irrigation
  • Review, update and direct the implementation of wound care & prevention policies and procedures
  • Monitor wound healing progress and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment modalities
  • Educate residents, families, and staff on wound care protocols and prevention strategies
  • Collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
  • Maintain accurate documentation of wound assessments, interventions, and outcomes for regulatory compliance and reimbursement
