About The Position

Englewood Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated Wound Care /IP Nurse to join their work family. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Possess a valid RN or LPN license in good standing according to State and Federal requirements.
Thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective nursing practices within the State of Florida.
Basic Computer knowledge and skills.
Knowledge on the use of personal computers, Word and Excel.
Experience working with office machines such as fax and copying machines.
Personal integrity and the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and other personnel.
Ability to be discrete and protect the integrity of confidential information and stay within Compliance and HIPAA.

Responsibilities

Manage the facility's infection prevention and control program (IPCP) and wound prevention program.
Create and implement systems for preventing, identifying, reporting, investigating, and controlling infections, skin breakdown, and communicable diseases for all individuals within the facility.
Follow standard and transmission-based precautions to prevent the spread of infections, including appropriate use of isolation.
Develop a system for recording incidents identified under the IPCP and the corrective actions taken.
Partner with facility leaders, physicians, and relevant agencies on infection prevention activities.
Conduct outbreak investigations and report incidents as required.
Review new residents, complete initial skin assessments, and assess treatment plans.
Participate in clinical reviews to identify changes in resident condition.
Implement the Braden scale and new prevention interventions with changes in condition.
Obtain weekly wound measurements and document assessment findings (date, location, stage, dimensions, color, tissue, drainage, healing progress).
Make daily rounds to ensure prevention interventions are implemented.
Monitor infection control techniques during dressing changes and conduct rounds with other nurses.
Oversight of the IPCP, including surveillance, reporting procedures, standard and transmission-based precautions, isolation protocols, and hand hygiene.
Ensure proper handling, storage, processing, and transport of linens to prevent infection spread.
