About The Position

Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute - Vascular Wound Care Clinic is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join the practice. This is a .75 FTE position, working three 10-hour shifts (7a - 5p) per week, totaling 30 hours per week. This outpatient role will provide services at our Minneapolis location. The team provides advanced wound care therapies for the full scope of wounds. The electronic health record system used is Epic.

Requirements

• Master's degree - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire.
• Certified Nurse Practitioner - ANCC or AANP certification within specialty required upon hire.
• BLS certification required within 180 days of hire.
• Drug Enforcement Administration upon hire required.
• Wound education required through WebWOC within 12 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• New graduates may be considered.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in wound care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
• Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
• Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
• Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
• Refers for specialty care when determined.
• Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
• Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
• Acts as resource to members of the team.
