About The Position

This position is for a World Language Teacher, specifically for Spanish, within the Paterson Public Schools district. The role requires a candidate who can effectively teach a foreign language, demonstrating knowledge of child development, instructional strategies, and classroom management. The teacher will be responsible for using assessment and data analysis to inform instruction. Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish are essential for interacting with students, staff, parents, administrators, and the community. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, result-driven, and possess the ability to integrate technology into the learning environment. This is a full-time position, pending budget availability, and applications will be considered for ten days following the posting date or until filled. Requirements

  • Hold a New Jersey Teacher of World Language Certificate (Spanish)
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of teaching a foreign language
  • Knowledge of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, and classroom management
  • Knowledge of assessment and data analysis for instructional purposes
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and in another language, both orally and in writing, with students, staff, parents, administrators, and the community
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community
  • Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, digital technology to augment authentic learning, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications
  • Must be computer literate
  • Highly motivated result-driven educator
  • Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
