About The Position

Serves as a coach and leader for teachers as they implement instruction. Under the direction of the school principal, plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students. Instructs and supervises students in a variety of school-related settings. Monitors and evaluates student outcomes using multiple data sources. Acts as a liaison between the school building and curriculum office(s). Develops and provides relevant professional development. Performs other duties as assigned. Department Chair positions and candidates are selected and renewed on a year-to-year basis.

Requirements

• Must hold a Maryland State Department of Education Professional Eligibility Certificate, Advanced Professional Certificate, or Master Professional Certificate.
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in a world language.
• Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a leadership role (e.g., team leader, mentor teacher, committee chair).
