About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing business in the United States as a Workshop Manager. The role is accountable for leading technicians on the workshop floor, overseeing the effective management and performance of the JFK maintenance operation, delivering outstanding service and compliance with Quality Standards, promoting safe working practices, improving day-to-day operations, ensuring technicians complete paperwork to a high standard, and maintaining high-quality standards for customers.

Requirements

  • Expert technical background in GSE maintenance and repair: mechanics, hydraulics, electricity, air pressure, aircon/refrigeration units, and electrical systems

Responsibilities

  • Coaching and leading the team, taking end-responsibility for quality, efficiency, safety, and resources within their unit.
  • Coaching and motivating team members, fostering teamwork, and taking responsibility for the team.
  • Implementing TCR processes and procedures using SAP for workshop management, including resource and labor allocation, stock management (determining and ordering spare parts, office supplies, etc.).
  • Providing insights to management regarding planning feasibility and advising on viable solutions and bottlenecks.
  • Identifying and visualizing planned maintenance and outstanding problems using available systems.
  • Tracking work package progress (disruptions and maintenance) based on available resources, monitoring standard times, bottlenecks, backlog, and feasibility.
  • Assisting team members in processing and making production figures and/or quality data visible to operations.
  • Creating, checking, evaluating, and signing inspection lists.
  • Implementing contingency procedures.
  • Providing subject-specific support to team members, including instructing in maintenance and malfunctions for safe vehicle and equipment maintenance, and knowledge transfer for professional development.
  • Coordinating and evaluating activities with key stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, and TCR departments.
  • Providing customer information to team members regarding matters influencing operations.
  • Advising customers on vehicle and equipment availability.
  • Contributing to professional knowledge for setting up (quality) measurements in consultation with management.
  • Proposing improvements such as adjusting procedures and making new work agreements.
  • Investigating and producing technical improvements (modifications) to equipment to reduce cost price per unit and increase customer availability.
  • Performing tasks specific to technicians, including associated responsibilities and authorities.
  • Taking end-responsibility for workshop administration within the unit and in cooperation with relevant departments, including work orders, invoicing preparation, and time control.
  • Demonstrating active safety leadership by driving the safety culture and implementing initiatives to continuously improve TCR’s safety performance and OHSA management system.
