About The Position

Within the Department of Administration (DOA), Division of Enterprise Technology Strategy and Services (ETSS), this role assists in identifying emerging technologies, managing and overseeing technology deployments, and maintaining and supporting technology platforms and services. This may include contract, finance, security, or other supporting strategic initiatives. The position is responsible for enforcing and rolling out centralized standards, procedures, and policies within ETSS. It also assists ETSS leadership in collaborating with agency and department teams to drive the conceptualization, transformation, delivery, and technical realization of multiple technology solutions, creating efficient and innovative platforms for internal and external customers. The role works under the administrative direction of ETSS Leadership with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment, and may review the work of professional and technical staff.

Requirements

• A thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures involved in the operation of information technology management systems.
• The ability to apply such knowledge in the overall planning, organization, direction, coordination, and administration of associated management and support functions.
• An in-depth knowledge of the organization and functions of government.
• The ability to establish and maintain effective work relations with all state officials.
• The ability to supervise the operation of a central information management system.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to plan, supervise, direct, and review the work of a professional, technical and clerical staff.
• Graduation from a college of recognized standing with a bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information Management Systems, or a closely related field such as Business Management or Public Administration supplemented by completion of specialized information technology and research training courses.
• Considerable employment in a responsible solution architect position in a capacity that is responsible for a major information technology support operation.
• Extensive experience in technology advancements such as unified endpoint management (UEM) platforms, asset management, configuration management, compliance/security management, IT service management/ITIL Framework, and zero-trust architecture for example.
• Experience with writing technical, procedures, and policy documents.
• Experience in enterprise applications and/or departmental applications.
• Any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.
• Must undergo a national fingerprint background screening.
• Must have employment eligibility validated through E-Verify.
