About The Position

The Workplace Services Technician will perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to support the functionality, safety, and comfort of the workplace. Collaborating with Corporate Services and Workplace Experience vendors and Property Management teams, this role ensures smooth and efficient facilities operations.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at hire and must maintain authorization to work in the United States throughout their employment with our company.
  • Minimum Internet Speed: 100 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload, in alignment with the FCC's definition of "broadband."
  • Internet Type: Fiber, Cable (e.g., Comcast, Spectrum), or DSL.
  • Not Permissible: Satellite (e.g., Starlink), cellular broadband (hotspot or otherwise), any other wireless technology, or wired dial-up.
  • Candidates will be required (after the initial phone screen) to be on video for all interviews.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, execute, and track work orders for furniture assembly, workplace changes, and repairs, while providing hands-on support for office moves, and space reconfigurations.
  • Perform general handyman duties including minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs, patching and painting walls, hanging artwork or whiteboards, and installing fixtures.
  • Performs workplace and furniture repairs and removals. This will involve assessing damage, coordinating with repair technicians or vendors, and ensuring that the necessary repairs are carried out promptly. In the case of furniture removal, coordinates the logistics and disposal process in compliance with Symetra’s sustainability initiatives.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues to minimize disruption to workplace operations.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and proactively address issues, ensuring that all workspaces are tidy and furniture is in place.
  • Perform functionality checks on reservable desk equipment to verify operational status and ensure all components meet performance standards.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in good working order, clean, organized, and free of hazards to ensure safe work practices are followed.
  • Assist with occasional Event Center furniture set up as needed.
