Role Overview The Workplace Generalist is a highly organized, service-oriented operator responsible for the daily health, functionality, and experience of the office environment. This role serves as the connective tissue between people, space, and operations — ensuring the office runs smoothly, requests are handled with care and urgency, and shared spaces consistently reflect Rho’s standards. This is a 6-month contract role at 40 hours per week, with the possibility of conversion to a permanent position. This role requires strong time management, proactive communication, attention to detail, and comfort balancing both hands-on tasks and systems-based work (Jira, Slack, inventory tracking).

Responsibilities

  • Open, maintain, and reset all shared office spaces to ensure readiness throughout the day.
  • Monitor office functionality, including supplies, equipment, and cleanliness.
  • Restock kitchen, first floor lounge and office supplies as needed; maintain accurate inventory tracking.
  • Receive, process, and distribute mail, packages, and deliveries.
  • Direct visitors and vendors to the appropriate contact point, escalating as needed.
  • Ensure all spaces are clean, organized, and prepared for the following workday.
  • Review Jira and Slack daily to identify new workplace requests and updates.
  • Ensure all tasks are logged as Jira tickets to maintain documentation, visibility, and accountability.
  • Create and execute daily action plans based on request priority and operational needs.
  • Follow up on completed tasks to confirm resolution and satisfaction.
  • Close the loop with management on progress, blockers, or items requiring escalation.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Workplace Manager regarding priorities, external tasks, schedule changes, or uncertainties.
  • Provide timely updates on completed or in-progress work.
  • Communicate clearly with team members regarding office operations and shared-space expectations.
  • Use Slack for real-time updates and verbal communication when urgency or clarity is required.
  • Observe and contribute to office culture markers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engagement, flow, or functionality of the space.
  • Partner with the Workplace Manager to develop ideas for expanding or enhancing the in-office experience.
