A Workover Rig Floorhand-Trainee is an inexperienced individual responsible for learning and performing all activities conducted on the workover rig floor. This role involves working with a three to five-person crew performing maintenance and repairs on oil & gas wells. The trainee will spend 2 to 3 weeks on a training rig to learn essential duties before being placed with a regular rig. Responsibilities include picking up/laying down pipe, assisting with loading/off-loading, performing daily maintenance, managing tools, rigging up/down, operating the mud pump, mixing fluids, and performing equipment upkeep. The trainee must also pass written exams and evaluations at 60, 90, and 180 days, demonstrating a strong understanding of training materials, policies, and procedures. They will also assist in shop or yard maintenance and repairs when necessary, attend safety meetings, and comply with all company, customer, and regulatory policies. The role requires the ability to work in all weather conditions and perform other duties as directed by management.
