Working Student – AI Process & Business Excellence (m/f/d)
About The Position
As a Working Student in AI Process & Business Excellence, you will analyze how work is done at 1KOMMA5° and identify opportunities to make processes faster, cheaper, and less manual. You will be part of the Employee Technology team, collaborating directly with business functions such as Sales, Service, Finance, People, and country markets. Your role involves understanding and documenting processes, identifying areas for improvement, and working with the team to implement solutions using AI tooling and existing automation platforms. You will be entrusted with real processes and stakeholders from the outset.
Requirements
- Enrolled at a university for the entire duration of the working student contract, in Industrial Engineering, Business Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration with a technical focus, or a comparable field.
- Available for approximately 20 hours per week during the semester.
- First practical experience with process analysis, process modelling (e.g. BPMN), or operational improvement work (from internship, working student role, or university project).
- Hands-on experience with AI tooling for real work, with the ability to explain what has been built or automated.
- Experience with, or strong willingness to quickly learn, no-code/low-code automation platforms (n8n, Make, Zapier or similar).
- Basic scripting ability (Python, JavaScript/AppScript or similar) and comfort working with APIs and structured data.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and data analysis.
- Strong people skills, with the ability to understand processes and explain technical solutions to non-technical colleagues.
- Structured, self-directed working style.
- Ability to communicate at a business level in English.
- Based in or around Berlin or Hamburg, with willingness to travel on occasion.

- German language skills would be a huge plus.
Responsibilities
- Map and review existing business processes across markets.
- Conduct user interviews to understand current workflows.
- Document the current state of processes, measuring cycle times, handoffs, and manual touchpoints.
- Benchmark job titles against the market to identify optimization opportunities.
- Deliver improvements by building automations using tools like n8n, Google Workspace/AppScript, APIs, and AI tooling.
- Collaborate with experts on scoping, specifying, and delivering complex automations.
- Test and measure the impact of delivered automations.
- Educate colleagues on quick wins and simple workflow changes.
- Run enablement sessions for colleagues.
- Build and refine prompts and internal AI assistants for specific teams.
- Provide feedback on tooling to drive improvements.
- Contribute to broader AI enablement initiatives.
