Omni Aerospace is seeking an experienced hands on - working Machine Shop Supervisor. The Working Production Supervisor is responsible for operating CNC machines and supporting daily production activities while providing guidance and direction to team members on the shop floor. This position performs machining, setups, and troubleshooting as a primary function, with additional responsibility for coordinating workflow, assisting with training, ad supporting shift operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining, including hands-on work with close-tolerance and aerospace components
  • Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (lead, cell lead, or supervisor role preferred)
  • Strong hands-on machining background, with the ability to set up and operate equipment as needed to support production (working supervisor role)
  • Proficiency in 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining, including vertical mills and horizontal machining centers with palletized systems
  • Solid understanding of manual and CNC machining processes, tooling, and cutting parameters
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, process improvement, and shop floor efficiency practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machining and production issues in real time
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and support team members on the floor
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate workflow in a fast-paced production environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an AS9100 or ISO-regulated environment preferred
  • Proficient with ERP/MRP systems and basic computer applications (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines, perform setups, and run production jobs
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and ensure quality standards
  • Assist with tooling, programming adjustments, and process improvements
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to operators and machinists
  • Support scheduling and workflow coordination
  • Assist in training new employees
  • Communicate production issues to management
  • Coordinate and communicate with team about production schedules, making work assignments and following up to ensure due dates are met
  • Prepare for and communicate production schedule for second shift tie in
  • Continually train shop personnel of all skill levels to accomplish company production goals
  • Work closely with QC manager, Operations Manager and Programming Manager to meet project quality and delivery requirements
  • Perform other duties as requested
