About The Position

Dietrich Construction is a premier self-performing General Contractor operating in the Fargo, ND / Moorhead, MN area. We pride ourselves on executing high-end craftsmanship, maintaining organized jobsites, and providing an exceptional client experience. We are currently looking for a skilled, reliable, and leadership-minded Working Foreman to join our growing team. As a Working Foreman, you will act as the primary on-site manager for our construction projects. This is a working management role. You will spend roughly 70% of your time executing hands-on carpentry and 30% managing jobsites, timelines, material orders, and apprentices. You will bridge the gap between our project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and up to our strict quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of professional carpentry experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Mastery of residential and commercial framing, finish carpentry, and common power tools.
  • Proven ability to read, interpret, and build accurately from architectural plans.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Capable of lifting up to 80 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving, English communication, and basic digital literacy skills for logging daily reports.

Responsibilities

  • Execute High-End Carpentry: Perform expert-level framing, exterior trim, window/door installations, and intricate interior finish work.
  • Jobsite Leadership: Supervise daily site operations, manage junior carpenters/apprentices, and enforce safety protocols.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Schedule, guide, and oversee the quality of trade partners on site.
  • Material & Blueprint Management: Read architectural blueprints, perform material take-offs, and track orders.
  • Client Relations: Act as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, providing professional updates and answering questions.
  • Quality Control: Maintain clean, organized jobsites and ensure all work aligns with building codes and design specs.
