Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the oversight of all aspects of their assigned department to include supervision of staff, implementation of programs, active treatment for all consumers, ensuring compliance with Agency and Office Policies and Directives, Department of Public Health (DPH) regulations and Department of Labor (DOL) requirements. This position requires the employee to oversee the daily operations of the Work Activity Center (WAC) in producing work of quality while implementing individual consumer Individual Support Plan (ISP) programs/objectives and meeting DPH regulations. Serves as an in-charge person of Day Programs in the absence of the Day Programs Coordinator. This position requires an awareness of varied levels of the developmentally disabled and requires the ability to relate to the developmentally disabled and plan appropriate activities for classroom programming. Ensures Active Treatment for consumers in assigned areas is implemented by staff. Provides supervision to Workforce Specialists I in the assigned Day Program area(s) and DSPs when assisting the consumers in the Day Program area(s). Monitors documentation to ensure completion and accuracy. Maintains an environment that is clean/safe, ensuing accountability needs are met based on accountability plans for each consumer, and promoting an environment that provides dignity and respect to all consumers, free from abuse. Ensures compliance with regulations for Agency and Office, Department of Public Health (DPH), and Department of Labor (DOL). Attends Individual Support Plan (ISP) meetings, and business meetings as scheduled. Performs additional duties as assigned. This position is eligible for up to $3.50/hour shift differential for applicable shifts! The position for this posting is located at Coastal Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Summerville, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements

A High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
A valid Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

A bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing ICF-IID, as well as Agency and Office Directives relevant to ICF.
General knowledge of individuals with intellectual disabilities and basic safety practices.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, complying with all required regulations and procedures.
Ability to be a team leader and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to perform basic administrative tasks.
Computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Physical ability to work with consumers who may be physically aggressive or medically fragile.
Ability to work in a face-paced work environment and ICF.
Exposures to principles of teaching, and/or exposure to varied exceptional characteristics, and direct work with the developmentally disabled are desired.
Physical abilities include; lifting, pushing, standing, stooping, bending, pulling, walking, and running.
