About The Position

The position involves providing interviewing, assessment, referral, and job-matching services to diverse customers. The position evaluates customer skills to identify and recommend appropriate vocational objectives. This role requires interaction with the general public and is designated as a position of special trust. Key responsibilities include assessing and evaluating jobseekers to identify employment goals, creating a career pathway, proctoring formal assessments, determining customer eligibility for WIOA ITA, creating and updating customer case files, reporting non-compliance, developing and implementing an Individual Responsibility Plan (IRP), entering customer accountable activity information, creating support services authorization requests, conducting one-on-one interviews, responding to emails and voicemails, emailing and faxing applications and resumes, assisting in preparing customers for employment, performing front desk activities, providing information on WIOA Individual Training Account (ITA), informing customers of job requirements and responsibilities, reviewing Work Registration, assisting customers with job search, supporting jobseekers with barriers to employment, creating opportunities for individuals, and assisting customers with navigating online application processes. Additional duties include mentoring new hires, participating in partner activities, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments.
  • Case Management experience: ability to engage and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other applications.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to listen effectively.
  • Ability to manage email and telephone activity efficiently and courteously.
  • Ability to assess a job seeker and create a career pathway by research, program knowledge and critical thinking.
  • Two (2) years of experience in career development or related field required.
  • Florida Workforce Professional Tier 1 mandatory within one-year (12) months of date of hire.
  • Compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA).
  • Compliance with workplace safety.
  • Must provide own transportation for local travel.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Professional or nonprofessional experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing and evaluating jobseekers to identify employment goals and creating a career pathway.
  • Proctoring formal assessments to evaluate jobseeker interest, aptitude, and ability, and documenting results.
  • Determining and calculating customer eligibility for WIOA ITA.
  • Creating, maintaining, and updating customer case files and database files.
  • Reporting non-compliance of programs.
  • Developing and implementing an Individual Responsibility Plan (IRP).
  • Entering customer accountable activity information into the State system.
  • Creating support services authorization requests.
  • Conducting one-on-one interviews with WIOA ITA applicants.
  • Responding to emails and voicemails.
  • Emailing and faxing applications and resumes to employers.
  • Assisting customers with resume critique, resume writing, and interviewing skills coaching.
  • Performing front desk activities including greeting customers, obtaining identification, and providing orientation.
  • Providing information on the WIOA Individual Training Account (ITA).
  • Informing customers of job requirements and responsibilities.
  • Reviewing Work Registration for completeness.
  • Assisting customers with job search, online applications, and resume uploading.
  • Supporting jobseekers with barriers to employment.
  • Providing labor market information and skill development tools.
  • Assisting customers with navigating online application processes for assistance programs.
  • Administering basic skills, aptitude, and vocational interest tests and interpreting results.
  • Providing mentoring to new hire staff members.
  • Participating in partner activities as necessary.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
