Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field required; Masters preferred.
  • Experience with providing job coaching, workforce development or job training preferred
  • At least (3) years of experience working with low-income, high-risk children, teens, and families.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills (developing curricula, creating workshops).
  • Requires access to a reliable automobile and a valid California drivers license with a driving record acceptable to the agencys insurance carrier.
  • Physical ability to perform Pro-ACT and CPR/First Aid.
  • Feels comfortable working with clients in various settings.
  • Ability to use a computer and learn necessary computer programs.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback.
  • Strong knowledge of child abuse laws/crisis intervention techniques.
  • Employees are expected to support childrens emotional and social development by encouraging understanding of others and promoting positive self-concepts.
  • All employees must have the ability to treat those served by our agency in a caring and respectful manner, mindful of individual differences and cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic diversity.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning and facilitating classes and workshops, on such topics as, resume writing and job interviewing skills.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local community companies and organizations that will provide additional training and job opportunities.
  • Collaborates with outside agencies to facilitate and integrate Program components.
  • Assist in the recruitment, screening and selection of program participants.
  • Identifies needs of program participants and makes appropriate recommendations, referrals and linkages.
  • Develop a client-centered goal sheet with each client that describes objectives, interventions, methods and supportive services necessary to achieve the objectives, and outlines time frames for participation.
  • Develop and maintain a database to track outcome measures of workforce participants.
  • Act as an advocate in researching, referring and linking participants to mainstream resources and job readiness and vocational training.
  • Facilitate job readiness classes.
  • Conducts visits to homes, schools and or other service providers in order to help client achieve their service plan goals.
  • Design an individualized service plan, ensuring strategies, interventions and services are family-centered, flexible and community-based.
  • Ensure collaboration and coordination among all agencies involved in the implementation of the service plan.
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings, inter-agency meetings and in-service trainings.
  • Develops and maintains understanding of issues related to clients and families.
  • Follow states and agency laws regarding child abuse reporting.
  • Completes reports, case notes and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain consistent and regular attendance.
  • Maintain confidentiality as required by St. Annes, licensing, HIPAA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Follow and adheres to all field safety guidelines.
  • Participate in mandatory trainings, in-services, and meetings.
  • Participate in the Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) of the agency.
  • Other duties as assigned.
