Workforce Development Instructor - Auto (Part-time/Contractor)

About The Position

The position requires coordination of equipment, curriculums, training, relationships, and other resources that promote / support the objectives of the MTI program. The Workforce Development Instructor – Automotive most be a subject matter expert in automotive technology. This position is part-time, contractual. The Workforce Development Instructor – Automotive will instruct in in a training laboratory, classroom lecture, and online setting. The Workforce Development Instructor – Automotive assists the WDE education team in the development of the course curriculum. This position contributes to applicable tasks related to the successful matriculation of students through the MTI program. The Workforce Development Instructor – Automotive will have a high level of engagement with other providers/partners, funding agencies, and program participants to provide program assessments, monitoring, support, advocacy, and accountability for program outcomes & metrics.

  • ASE certified, bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, 5 years’ experience in Automotive Technology, Education, Employment Services or related field.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, converse effectively in person and virtually, and transport donor/event collateral up to 20 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous apprenticeship program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Classroom instruction in the following subjects: Automotive Technology.
  • Assists the supervisor of academic instruction with the maintenance of student classroom discipline standards.
  • Periodically evaluates student progress and documents assessment
  • Assists student counselors in his/her activities to ensure student achievement of program training goals.
  • Participates in curriculum development
  • Classroom Lecture and hands on instruction.
  • Assist with equipment installation, initial set-up and maintenance.
  • Assist with prospective program participant screening activities.
  • Provide administrative support to maintain records, auditable documents, and ensure the program remains in good standing and compliance with funding agencies.
  • Participate in program outreach, recruitment and advocate for the MTI program.
  • Provide tutorial instruction as necessary.
  • Instruct and ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations according to Federal, State and municipal laws, and Focus: HOPE Safety Rules and Regulations.
  • Assist with providing related program services to support student success throughout the program.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
