About The Position

The Workforce & Career Navigator is responsible for empowering individuals and families to achieve long-term economic mobility through career development, employment services, financial education, and individualized case management. This position serves as a trusted coach and advocate, helping participants identify career goals, overcome barriers to employment, and connect to the resources needed to achieve sustainable success. The Navigator conducts participant intakes, assessments, and goal setting, develops individualized service plans, and provides ongoing support through every stage of the employment journey. Primary responsibilities include career exploration, resume and cover letter development, interview preparation, job search assistance, job placement, and employment retention coaching. The Navigator designs and facilitates workforce development workshops focused on workplace readiness, professional communication, digital literacy, leadership development, financial literacy, and career advancement while monitoring participant outcomes and ensuring progress toward established goals. In addition, the position provides financial coaching, budgeting assistance, benefits navigation, and referrals to community resources that support long-term financial stability and self-sufficiency. The Workforce & Career Navigator also develops and maintains strong relationships with employers, workforce agencies, educational institutions, apprenticeship programs, and community organizations to expand employment opportunities for participants. The position coordinates career fairs, hiring events, networking opportunities, and community outreach activities while representing Logan Heights Community Development Corporation throughout San Diego County. Success in this role requires maintaining accurate case documentation, managing an active participant caseload, and ensuring compliance with agency and funding requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in workforce development, career coaching, employment services, financial education, or case management.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Resourceful, organized, and solutions-oriented.
  • Must pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with underserved or trauma-informed populations.
  • Experience facilitating workshops.
  • Experience building employer partnerships.
  • Experience utilizing Salesforce or similar case management systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities
