About The Position

Develops, coordinates and administers the worker's compensation program to ensure delivery of quality patient care. This role involves assisting physicians and employees with worker's compensation patients and complex cases, facilitating their return to maximum health and work. The specialist will also help patients and employees understand the worker's compensation process and implement new procedures. Maintaining working relationships with external worker's compensation parties, businesses, and clinic physicians is crucial for business development and resolving complex concerns. The role requires preparing and maintaining case records, performing follow-up, and developing case management plans. Additionally, the specialist will prepare charts for impairment rating, provide internal staff training, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 4 or more years of experience in related field required
  • Must be computer literate. Intermediate computer skills are required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred, or an equivalent of 4 or more years in related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists Physicians and employee(s) with worker's compensation patients and complex worker's compensation cases utilizing case management methods which facilitate employees return to maximum health and to work
  • Helps patients and employees understand the worker's compensation process and implement any new worker's comp procedures
  • Maintains working relationships with external worker's compensation parties, businesses, and clinic physicians to assist in development and expanding of business plus resolves any complex worker's compensation concerns
  • Prepares and maintains written case records, reports and forms, performs case follow-up, modifications and closing
  • Available to assess and evaluate current progress and needs in order to develop a case management plan
  • Prepares and approves charts for impairment rating as needed
  • Provides training for internal staff as needed
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others
  • Performs other duties as assigned
