About The Position

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Specialist to service the territory surrounding California. This position will handle medical-only and lost-time workers' compensation claims. The role is responsible for investigating and evaluating workers’ compensation insurance claims to ensure accurate settlements. The pay range for this position is $53,500 - $90,000 annually, with pay based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Requirements

Licensed to handle CA claims.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Organizational and prioritization skills.
Knowledge of jurisdiction laws, procedures, and regulations.
A valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Investigating and evaluating workers’ compensation insurance claims to ensure accurate settlements.
Interviewing insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
Reviewing hospital records.
Evaluating claim facts and application of workers’ compensation statutes.
Performing medical management of claims files.
Preparing reports of findings and securing claims completion with claimants.
Using claims-handling software, laptop, and phone to adjust losses in a paperless environment.
Providing superior and professional customer service.
