About The Position
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Workers’ Compensation Lawyer to join our growing team in our Downtown Los Angeles office. This is a full-time, in-office position ideal for an attorney with at least 2 years of experience handling California workers’ compensation matters. The ideal candidate is confident managing a caseload independently and committed to providing exceptional client advocacy.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Minimum of 2 years of experience handling California workers’ compensation cases
- Strong knowledge of WCAB procedures and California Labor Code
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation and litigation skills
Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of California workers’ compensation defense or applicant matters from inception through resolution
- Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials before the WCAB
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement documents
- Evaluate claims for exposure and develop effective case strategies
- Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, claims adjusters, and medical providers
- Negotiate settlements and attend lien conferences as needed
- Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with all applicable deadlines
