About The Position

These are law firm workers’ compensation defense attorney roles focused on representing employers, insurance carriers, TPAs, corporations, and institutional clients in workers’ compensation litigation matters. Candidates must be licensed attorneys (JD required) with workers’ compensation defense, insurance defense, or related litigation experience. They should be comfortable independently managing litigation files and hearings and possess strong communication, litigation, and case management skills. These roles are not suitable for plaintiff-only candidates unwilling to transition into defense work, transactional attorneys, or candidates without litigation or administrative hearing experience. The opportunities involve WCAB hearings, depositions, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, claims strategy, and direct client interaction with employers, insurance carriers, TPAs, and institutional clients in both California and Midwest defense practices.

Requirements

  • Licensed attorneys (JD required).
  • Workers’ compensation defense, insurance defense, or related litigation experience.
  • Comfortable independently managing litigation files and hearings.
  • Strong communication, litigation, and case management skills.
  • Active California, Missouri, or Illinois Bar admission required (or ability to obtain admission as required).

Responsibilities

  • Representing employers, insurance carriers, TPAs, corporations, and institutional clients in workers’ compensation litigation matters.
  • Independently managing litigation files and hearings.
  • Conducting WCAB hearings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Participating in trial preparation and claims strategy.
  • Direct client interaction with employers, insurance carriers, TPAs, and institutional clients.
  • Drafting motions.
  • Managing high-volume caseloads.
  • Appearing before administrative tribunals.
  • Developing strong client-facing relationships.
