About The Position

Ogletree’s Cleveland office has an opportunity for an experienced workers’ compensation defense attorney to join the firm’s expanding practice. This role will be responsible for defending claims from inception to final resolution, including administrative hearings, Violation of Specific Safety Requirement (“VSSR”) claims, and litigation including appeals. Qualified candidates must be able to serve as lead counsel on multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Our office is collegial with a commitment to mutual respect in the workplace. This non-shareholder track position is benefits eligible.

Requirements

Juris Doctor
Licensed to practice law in Ohio and in good standing
Meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice
3+ years of Worker’s Compensation defense experience
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal
Excellent presentation skills

Responsibilities

Defending claims from inception to final resolution
Handling administrative hearings
Managing Violation of Specific Safety Requirement (“VSSR”) claims
Conducting litigation including appeals
Serving as lead counsel on multiple cases simultaneously
Meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
